GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The GC women's softball team could not top Oklahoma Wesleyan in their first double-header of 2013, and lost 9-2 and 6-0 at home.

The first game ended in 9-2, with Andrea Martin getting 2 RBIs, and both Mattie Fairchild and Amy Sheets hitting a double. Hannah Burger pitched the first two innings for the Panthers, facing 12 batters and allowing three hits. Jessica Laubecher was on the mound for the remaining 5 innings, facing 26 batters and allowing 5 hits that led to 6 runs.

In the second game, GC could not seem to get in the swing of things and were shutout 6-0. Mattie Fairchild had 2 hits in the game and Bryn McKie earned a hit as well, and all three hits were singles. Hannah Burger and Ashley Woodrome had time on the mound for Greenville, with Burger facing 7 batters and allowing 1 run and Woodrome facing 31 batters and allowing 5 runs.

The team will go on the road next weekend as they play in the Evangel David Filmore Memorial Tournament in hopes of getting their first win of 2013.
