Lady Panther Tennis Sweeps Fontbonne at Home

The Lady Panthers dominated the Griffins of Fontbonne on Thursday afternoon, winning the conference match 9-0. The women's hard work has paid off with this impressive sweep proving they are a team to be reckoned with.

In singles play, Jamie Harling played a 6-2, 6-1 match to take the No. 1 spot victory. No. 2, Katie Maurer overtook her opponent with a score of 6-4, 8-6. Kristin Minshall won 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in a hard fought match. Kristen Lynch had a remarkable performance, sweeping her Fontbonne competition 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 5 spot, Chelsie Evans got an impressive win with a score of 6-1, 6-2. Lastly, Kat Kennedy played a 6-3, 6-3 match to get her best win of the season.

Doubles play was equally impressive with all three teams pulling out big wins. The No. 1 pair of Harling and Maurer won 8-4. The sister duo of Minshall and Minshall came out on top with a score of 8-1. Evans and Lynch also ended with a score of 8-1 to take the No. 3 doubles match.

This win moves the GC women's record to 3-6 (2-1 SLIAC). The Lady Panthers will hit the court again tomorrow as they take on Concordia in St. Louis.
