GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The GC Women's Tennis team will return to the court Tuesday, March 12 when they travel to Hilton Head S.C. The team will look to the returners, namely SLIAC Honorable Mentions Kristen Lynch and Chelsie Evans.

The Lady Panthers ended their 2012 season with a record of 5-10 (3-3 SLIAC). They placed fourth in the SLIAC regular season and went on to play Blackburn in the first round of the Conference Tournament, defeating them 5-0. They then took on the No. 1 seed, Webster, and fell 7-2. Greenville played Westminster in the third place match and lost 7-2, taking fourth place overall.

The team lost Katie Maurer and Kim Minshall to graduation but the team has a strong group of returners along with 3 new freshman coming in this year.

Lynch, a sophomore from Centralia, Ill., played in the No. 4 spot for Greenville last year and was recognized as a SLIAC Honorable Mention in singles. In addition, she and Evans, a junior from Greenville High School, received an Honorable Mention for their doubles play as well.

Senior, Jamie Harling will also be a leader for Greenville. She played in the No. 1 spot last season and will look to continue her high level of play through this year.

Coach Pam Craig is in her twentieth consecutive year as the head women's tennis coach. Craig has been named SLIAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year for three years in her career at GC.
