MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- The men's basketball team picked up a huge 116-112 road win at Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night to finish the night in first place by themselves as they clinched no worse than a tie for the regular season SLIAC championship.

Greenville's offense featured double figure scoring outputs from seven players as the squad defeated Iowa Wesleyan for the second time this season.

Shane Smith came off the bench to provide 21 points, and Kenny Greene offered 17 points as a part of the team's second unit. Michael Hohm led the starters with 18 points.

Tim Daniel added 14 points, Andrew Scott chipped in 12 markers, and Daniel Saeli and DeAndre Brown produced 11 points.

Greenville led 63-56 at halftime and held off a fierce second half charge from the Tigers to take the win.

Scott led the Panthers with 11 rebounds as he completed a double-double, and Smith and Greene tallied three steals as they led a defense that forced 21 turnovers.

Going into Saturday's game, the Panthers (13-11, 12-5 SLIAC) need only a win against Eureka or a loss by MacMurray to capture the GC men's basketball program's second outright league championship and secure duties as host of the SLIAC tournament on Feb. 25 and 27.
