Men's basketball atop NCAA leaderboard

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville College men's basketball team transitioned to an uptempo style of play this season, and it has resulted in the team and its players being ranked among the NCAA national leaders.

Through 10 games, Greenville is the number one team in the NCAA Division III in the following statistical categories -

Offensive rebounds per game (21.5)
Scoring offense per game (110.2)
Steals per game (17.1)
Total steals (171)
Turnovers forced (28.0)

The squad is in the top 10 in other categories -

3-pt field goal attempts (468, 2nd)
Turnover margin (10.8, 2nd)
3-pt field goals per game (15.1, 3rd)
Free throw attempts (292, 6th)
Total rebounds (465, 7th)
Total rebounds per game (46.5, 8th)

In addition, the squad has Tim Daniel who leads the country in 3-pt field goal attempts with 113.  Daniel is third in total 3-pt field goals made (47) and fourth in 3-pt field goals per game (4.70).

The Panthers (2-8) resume their season on Saturday, Jan. 2, at Spalding.
