Men's basketball debuts exciting offense, falls 150-117

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The men's basketball team unveiled their run-and-gun system but came out on the short end of a 150-117 decision at Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday.

The Panthers forced the issue with their up-tempo style and made 17 steals as the Titans committed 23 turnovers.

G.C. produced 93 shots as they made 45 buckets at a 48 percent clip.

Greenville got 24 points and five steals from DeAndre Brown in 17 minutes of action before he fouled out. Michael Hohm added 22 points.

Tim Daniel led the Panthers in rebounds with eight, and Brian Ehresman tallied five assists.

The Panthers stroked 44 3-point field goal attempts and made 16. IWU was 12 of 27 in 3-point shooting.

The Titans held a 78-56 lead at halftime.

The Panthers (0-1) face Elmhurst on Friday at 7 p.m.
