Men’s basketball wins second straight

ELSAH, Ill. The mens basketball team held its fourth place position in the SLIAC standings with a road win at Principia on Tuesday. The Panthers stormed back from a two-point halftime deficit to outscore Principia by 11 points in the second half and earn the 83-74 win.

Tim Daniel led Greenville with 18 points, and Ron Harris contributed 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Panthers were benefited by winning the turnover battle with Principia. Greenville forced 18 Principia turnovers, while limiting themselves to just nine.

Greenville collected 13 steals as Andrew Scott, Harris, and Stevonte Young each had three.

G.C. made 31-of-67 field goals to end the game at a 46.3 percent clip. They made 6-of-18 three-pointers and 15-of-21 free throws.

Greenville won the battle of the boards as the Panthers outrebounded Principia 34-26.

The Panthers (13-10, 10-6 SLIAC) close the regular season with two games at home. They play Blackburn on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Webster on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
