BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- The men's cross country team saw sophomore Andrew Sharp clock a 26:04 in the eight kilometer race to finish 12th and lead Greenville to its sixth place showing.

Sharp had his lifetime best in the field of167. His previous best was 26:20, and he ran 26:48 on the same course three weeks ago.

Greenville's next finisher was over one minute behind Sharp as Nathan Potts posted a 27:30 for 39th place.

Jacob Burrell was close behind, taking 41st with a time of 27:34.

Just eight seconds later, Nathan Allyn crossed the finish line with a 27:42 for 49th place.

Jaylen Shelton closed out Greenville's scoring with a 27:51 for 51st place.

"The tight pack was very helpful," said head coach Brian Patton. "Potts, Burrell, Allyn and Shelton were our No. 2-5 guys and only 21 seconds separated them. Three of those four performed with their lifetime best."

Greenville accumulated 192 points in the race. Midwest regional rival Augustana had 38 points in a dominating first place finish.

After a one-week hiatus, the Panthers will run at Bradley on Friday, Oct. 16.
