Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The GC men's soccer team took on No. 16 ranked Washington University-St. Louis Wednesday night and fell 4-0.

Wash U scored in the 45th minute when Jonathan Lipsey put the ball past Greenville 'keeper, Thomas Crown. With just 30 seconds left in the half, a dangerous ball sent into the box landed at a Lipsey's feet and he was able to make it count. This brought the score to 1-0 favoring the Bears, heading into halftime.

The Bears would score three more times in the second half, with Lipsey, Jake Shapiro, and Drew Gottwald each recording a goal. Despite a few offensive chances for the Panthers, GC could not find the back of the net and the game ended 4-0.

The Panthers' current record is 1-5-3. They open SLIAC play this Saturday, September 28, in Greenville when they take on the Spalding University Eagles.
