Men’s Soccer Starts Season with a Win Against TIU

Published: April 13, 2021

The Panthers traveled to Deerfield, Ill. and came from behind for a 2-1 road victory over Trinity International University.

GC went down early, with a TIU goal. Greenvilles Aaron Mulholland answered with an impressive equalizer later in the first half. Lucas Miller netted the game-winner for the Panthers on a free kick, bending the ball right past the TIU goalkeeper to bring the game to its final score of 2-1.

Coach Swift was proud of the teams effort on both ends of the field.

Aarons goal was a peach from just outside the 18 [yard box] and Lucas free kick was exactly how he had been hitting them all week, Swift said. Defensively, our organization was terrific throughout the game and we created and finished our chances to give us a deserved victory.

The men will play again Monday at 1:00pm as they take on Dominican University.

This group of guys is all about the team, Swift added. I couldnt be more proud of this group.
