GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's soccer team lost a tightly contested match to Rose-Hulman 1-0 on Wednesday night. Greenville was led by senior goalkeeper Thomas Crown who produced four saves.

Rose-Hulman scored the winning goal in the 78th minute.

Josh Davinroy produced two shots for Greenville, and Spencer Pulliam had a shot on goal.

"We came up against a very good Rose-Hulman team tonight and went toe to toe with them," said head coach Chris Swift. "It's no mistake they went to the Sweet 16 last year and were ranked in the preseason."

"We did very well defensively, and this was definitely our best defensive performance of the season. Rose pushed us and tested us in ways that we haven't been pushed and tested so far, and we came through it admirably. Their goal comes off a deflection and in that sense we are unlucky, but we have to do a better job of taking our chances."

"We have to regroup and prepare for Saturday against Illinois College, and we need to get back to our winning ways."

The Panthers (2-1) host the Blue Boys on Saturday at 7 p.m.
