TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The men's soccer team squared off withRose-Hulman and returned home on the wrong side of a 3-1 contest on Wednesday night.

Rose-Hulman scored in the 12th minute to open the scoring, but Greenville answered with a score by Richie Hershkowitz to tie the score at 1-1.

Rose-Hulman regained the lead in the 37th minute and added aninsurance goal less than two minutes into the second half.

"There are not a lot of good things to say after that performance," said head coach Chris Swift. "The goal we scored was really good, but after that, I don't know that I could single out one player who played well consistently."

"The first half performance was shocking and we cannot expect to play like that at this level and be competitive. Things improved in the second half, but that was because it couldn't have gotten any worse after the first half. We have a lot of work to do and we get after it tomorrow."

Rose-Hulman outshot Greenville 18-5 in the contest.

Greenville (1-3) hosts matches on Friday and Saturday when Coe and Gustavus Adolphus visit Francis Field.
