Mens Soccer topped by Westminster
GREENVILLE, Ill. The mens soccer team saw an early second half goal by Westminster hold up as the Blue Jays earned a 1-0 win against the Panthers on Saturday.
The teams combined for 12 shots, as Westminster held a slight edge with seven of the shots. Greenville had more shots on goal, taking a 4-3 edge.
Jordan York had two of Greenvilles shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Thomas Crown totaled two saves.
We battled and pushed Westminster for 90 minutes, but they seem to have our number at the moment, said head coach Chris Swift. We huffed and puffed today but couldn't find the goal. Their goal came on a ball pinballing around the box that they put in.
We had some chances at the end to tie it up but couldn't get a break. We hope to see Westminster again because we know we can play with them and we know where they can have gotten. We are right there with them.
