HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The men's tennis team pushed their Spring Break record to 2-1 with a loss to St. Thomas in the opening match of the day followed by a clean 9-0 sweep of Loras.
Code Power picked up wins in both singles matches and a doubles match.
"My guys showed a lot of toughness in the Loras match," said head coach Brett Brannon.
"We had a one hour break and a couple of injuries, but came out and played really well."
Code Power's win against St. Thomas came in No. 3 singles. They split the first two sets 2-6, 6-4, and Power won the super tiebreaker 10-8.
Against Loras, the Panthers picked up three 8-4 wins in doubles and ran the table with wins from No. 1 to No. 6 singles. All singles victories but No. 6 all came in straight sets.
It took Mason Tennell a 10-3 super tiebreaker to polish off the Loras player.
The Panthers (6-3) are off Wednesday and face Buena Vista on Thursday.
