Published: April 13, 2021

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The nation's No. 16 ranked men's track and field team put points on the scoreboard early at the NCAA Division III national meet as senior Josh Kuusisto's throw of 190 feet, two inches ranked seventh in the nation and gave him All-American status. After the first day of competition, Greenville was 22nd with two points.

Kuusisto was the first of five Greenville entries on the men's side of the competition. He used his best throw in the preliminaries to advance to the finals where the mark held up for seventh, giving Greenville two points.

The 400-meter relay team of senior Josh Garcia, junior Bruce Gray, freshman Jonah Peoples, and junior Dmitri Holman posted Greenville's all-time best mark of 40.46 seconds, besting Wisconsin - Whitewater by almost half a second to take the top time entering the finals on Saturday. The mark of 40.46 seconds ranks as the 11th fastest time in NCAA Division III history. Only seven schools have ever posted a better mark.

Gray also ran in the 200-meter dash where his run of 21.22 seconds was second in his preliminary heat and gave him a spot in Saturday's finals.

Friday's slate of competition includes Jonah Peoples in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles at 5:45 p.m. (6:45 p.m. ET), and Gray competes at 6:45 p.m. (7:45 p.m. ET) in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash.
