Men's track and field opens outdoor season

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Andrew Sharp posted a pair of wins at the Washington - St. Louis Mini Meet in leading the Panthers to a fourth place overall finish.
Sharp completed the 400 meter dash in 48.95 seconds as he won by over one full second.
He clocked a time of 1:57.68 in the 800 meter run to win the event.
Ryan Burgess opened his outdoor season with a throw of 46.61 meters in the hammer throw to end as the event's champion.
Dusty Atteberry gave Greenville a second place mark in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.98 meters, and Chris Crawford provided a throw of 46.24 meters to gain the third best mark.
The Panthers return to Washington - St. Louis for their annual invitational next Friday.
