Men's track and field takes third at Washington - St. Louis Mini Meet

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's track and field team had nine men compete at the Washington - St. Louis Mini Meet and come back with 77 points and a third place showing.
Leading the way for Greenville was event champion Bryan Waugh in the discus. He hit a mark of 45.82 meters (150-4.25) on his first attempt to take the title.
A trio of throwers were second in their respective events. Dusty Atteberry hit a mark of 37.82 m (122-4) in the discus and 42.96 m (140-11.5) in the hammer . Dajuan Johnson reached a distance of 12.75 m (41-10) in the shot put.
Obtaining third place marks were Darnez Stokes in the shot put and hammer and Sterling Burns in the discus. Stokes reached a high of 12.28 m (40-3.5) shot put and 41.27 m (135-5) in the hammer. Burns hit 37.03 m (121-6.25) in the discus.
The Panthers return to action Friday and Saturday as they return to Washington - St. Louis for their annual invite.
