Men's Track Looks to Build on Success of Returners

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The GC men's track team is hoping to build upon the success of their 2012-2013 season. The team will look to Bruce Gray and Josh Kuusisto to lead the team this year.

Last season, GC was featured in weekly national rankings by the USTFCCCA, reaching a high of No. 11 on May 1. Theyfinished in13th place overall, which was the Panthers' second best finish men's track and field history.

GC Junior, Bruce Gray, is one of Greenville's most decorated returners. He is on pace to become the most successful track and field athlete in Greenville College history. During the outdoor season,Gray earned two All-American honors for hisperformances in the NCAA Championshipslast season. The honors were the fourth and fifth of his Greenville College career. Gray's indoor season was highlighted by his 200 meter dash and his 60 meter dash results in the NCCAA Championships. He earned 2nd place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.89 and finished 3rd in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.87. Gray is expected to be a key contributor for GC this year.

Senior Josh Kuusisto is another All-American retuning for the Panthers this season. Kuusisto took fourth place in the hammer throw in the NCAA Division III Championships. His 58.96 meter throw earned him top honors. Kuusisto's indoor season was topped by a 1st place finish in the weight throw at the NCCAA Nationals.

Also returning for Greenville is the successful 4x200 meter relay team. The team, consisting of Gray, Josh Garcia, Ryan St. Hill, and Treyvon Manning, placed 3rd in the NCCAA Indoor Nationals with a time of 1:30.83. All members of the team will be back this season.

The team has high hopes for this season and looks to build on last year's success as they enter the 2013-2014 season.
