Men's Basketball Claims Panther Paws for Poverty Tournament Championship; Wins 88-72 Over William Woods

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team took the championship of the Panther Paws for Poverty Tournament in Greenville with a convincing 88-72 win over William Woods Saturday afternoon. Thevictory stretched Greenville's winning streak to four games.

Rutger Neece ledthe Panthers with 19 points in a reserve role. K.J. Hilliard, who was named tournament most valuable player, added 13 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Greenville led 37-30 at halftime and outscored William Woods 51-42 in the second half.

Obinna Agomo tallied 11 points, and Rashod Seaton contributed 10 points to the Panthers' winning effort.

Mid-Continent won the consolation game over Lindenwood Belleville 76-65.

In the post-game awards ceremony, the following players were announced as members of the all-tournament team:

The Panthers (4-1) return to action Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at home against St. Louis Christian.
