Men's Basketball Tops Mid-Continent 99-94; Advances to Panther Paws for Poverty Tournament Title Game

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team extended their winning streak to three games with a 99-94 win over Mid-Continent Friday night in Greenville's Panther Paws for Poverty Tournament. The Panthers utilized a 22 point effort from Jonas McBride and 20 points, seven rebounds, and three stealsfrom K.J. Hilliard to silence the Cougars and improve their record to 3-1.
Greenville held a 52-46 lead at the half and never trailed in the second half despite being outscored 48-47 in the second period.
Andy Traeger passed out five assists in the win. Obinna Agomoscored 13 points.Markeith Brown and Rutger Neeced entered off the bench to add 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Panthers return to action in Saturday's championship gameat 3 p.m. as they host William Woods, who was a 65-55 winner over Lindenwood Belleville in the opening game Friday night.
