Men’s Cross Country Competes at NCAA Regional Meet

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. Fresh off their SLIAC championship, the Panther men competed Saturday, Nov. 13 at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships in Rock Island, Ill.

Greenville finished 18th overall as a team in a highly competitive NCAA Midwest Regional field of 39, and placed two individuals in the top 100.

The Panthers were led by senior Cole Prins and sophomore Alan Hollingsworth, who finished 85th and 89th respectively in the field of 275 runners. Prins who has consistently ran at the number one spot for the squad all year, set a personal best mark with a 25:46 on the 6K course Saturday. Hollingsworth finished with an impressive mark of his own, posting at 25:51.

Another highlight of the meet was senior John Spencer who saved his best performance for last. Spencer ran a sub 27 minute 6K (26:57) to set a new lifetime best in the final cross country competition of his career.
