Men's Soccer Tops SLIAC Coaches' Poll; Panthers Look to Repeat in 2010

ST. LOUIS - Greenville College has been chosen as the top team in the 2010 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Men's Soccer Pre-Season Coaches' Poll. The Panthers, who went 7-0-1 in conference play last season and 16-8-2 overall, received 61 points total in the poll and six first place votes.

Greenville is the defending regular season SLIAC champion and will look to repeat in 2010. Head coach Brian McMahon returns First Team All-SLIAC midfielder, Daniel Taylor, who recorded eight goals and 10 assists last season. Also returning is senior defender Terrance Cosby, who was a Second Team All-SLIAC selection in 2009, and junior forward David Dunlop, who was a Honorable Mention All-SLIAC selection. Dunlop led the Panthers with 15 goals last season, while also tallying six assists.

Webster University was selected second in the pre-season poll, compiling 58 points total and two first place votes. The Gorloks, who went 7-1 in SLIAC play and 10-7-1 overall, captured the 2009 SLIAC Tournament Championship with a 1-0 victory over Greenville.
