ELSAH, Ill. - Greenville College men's tennis opened 2012 by taking part in the highly-competitive two-day Principia College Invitational that showcased a heavy dose of talented tennis competitors.

The GC men's rackets battled in doubles and singles matches, posting several impressive performances while making strides in their first official meet of the new season.

"Our team is very strong this year," commented head coach Brett Brannon. "We have a full stable of young guys and a great mix of leadership at the top that will allow for another great season."

The annual early season Principia Inviational provided a wealth of top-teer tennis programs a chance to compete in the Friday-Saturday tournament. The meet was comprised of host Principia College, Quincy University, Knox College, and GC.

"This invitational was one of the most competitive and loaded meets around," continued Brannon. "I was extreemely pleased with how our men responded to adversity, and I expect big things from our squad moving on."

Greenville College men's tennis will return to the courts on Monday, February 20 as they return to the campus of Principia College in Elsah, Ill. and duel Missouri Baptist in a 7:00 pm night match.
