Men's Track and Field Take 7th in NCCAA Championships

ELGIN, Ill.-- The Greenville College Track and Field team took 7th out of 23 teams that competed in the NCCAA National Championships May 2-4. Josh Kuusisto, Bruce Gray, and Josh Dees were among GC's top finishers.

Kuusisto came in first place in the Hammer Throw, launching the hammer 58.78m. He was the only Panthers to win his event in the championship meet.

Gray competed in both the 100 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter Dash and placed 2nd in both events. Gray crossed the finish line at 10.55 for the 100 and at 20.98 for the 200.

Josh Dees ran in Heat 1 for the 800 Meter Run for GC. His time of 1:55.45 put him in 3rd place overall. Dees also came in 5th in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:01.36.

Bryant Simpson (800m), Ray Hingston (1500m), Coree Woltering (5000m), Ross Baker (5000m), Ben Barber (3000m Steeplechase), Nathan Young (10000m), and Trevor Thompson (10000m) also got on the board for Greenville.

The men finished 7th out of 23 teams with 39 points.
