GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team scored once in the seventh to tie and won the game on a two-run homer by Trevor Montgomery in the bottom of the ninth as they were 3-1 winners over Dubuque in Greenville's home opener.

Ryan Strohm was dynamite on the mound for the Panthers as he threw seven innings, allowing one run on nine hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, and he scored the game tying run after he doubled and Austin Marsh drove him in with an RBI single in the seventh.

Jason Collingwood was the winning pitcher as he relieved Strohm with two scoreless innings.

The Panthers (1-5) face Dubuque in a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m.
