Panther Basketball Beats Blackburn, 78-66

CARLINVILLE, Ill.--The GC Men's Basketball team outplayed SLIAC opponent Blackburn to win 78-66 and improve their SLIAC record to 8-10 (3-6 SLIAC).

Daniel Anderson led the team in scoring, putting 19 points on the board for Greenville, and Alex Mumphard also had an impressive offensive performance, putting in 15 points. Both Ben Giertz and Tim Daniel added 10 Panther points to the scoreboard.

Defensively, Tyler Mitchell led the team with 9 rebounds and 2 blocks. Giertz also added 5 rebounds and a steal.

Greenville went 80% from the free throw line, sinking 24 of the 30 shots taken.

For Blackburn, Jon Lowry and Ira Williams led their team, both scoring 11 points for the Beavers. Lowry also added 4 rebounds.

The Panthers take the court again on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 8:00pm when they travel to Eureka for more SLIAC play.
