Panther Soccer Scores Conference Win

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The GC men beat SLIAC opponent Blackburn 4-0 in their first Conference win of the season.

Robert Wright led the Greenville offense, scoring two goals and getting an assist.

GC got on the board in the 32nd minute of the game when Wright scored an unassisted goal. Wright continued his winning ways when he put the ball in the back of the net twenty four minutes later, this time off a pass from Matt Cowman. Freshman, Justin Mulholland finished the first half of scoring for GC when he headed a rebound into the net off of a shot from Jacob Krisher. This made the game 3-0 GC heading into halftime.

The second half was marked by a goal from Krisher in the 73rd minute. Wright was credited with the assist and this goal brought the game to it's final score of 4-0 GC.

Greenville outshot Blackburn 26-0, earning a shutout along with their SLIAC win.

The Panthers record is currently 6-5-1 (1-0-1 SLIAC). They play again Tuesday, Oct. 9 when they travel to Fontbonne to take on their Conference rivals at 8:30pm.
