Published: April 13, 2021

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.--The Greenville College men's soccer team traveled to Rose-Hulman and fought the Fightin' Engineers to a 0-0 tie, despite two overtime periods.

"Rose Hulman was by far the most organized and disciplined team we have played and gave us the most problems we have had all season," Coach Chris Swift explained. "I was very happy with how we responded to that test though, especially on the road."

Rose-Hulman outshot Greenville 21-9. Panthergoalkeeper, Thomas Crown, was a key to Greenville's defensive success. He made 7 saves and was big in the net all game.

"We defended well, got some timely goalkeeping that kept us in the match, and created a the opportunities to sneak the win," Swift explained. "Now it is a matter of recovering for Friday's game."

This marks the second time this season the men have played 110 minutes. Their last match went into double overtime as well.

The tie brings the team's record to 1-1-2. The men will take to their home field Friday, September 13 as they take on Missouri Baptist at 7:00pm.
