With seven seconds remaining in the game the Panthers faced a 3rd down on the Eureka seven yard line, down 28-33. It was SO QB Brendan Chambers (San Clemente, CA) who found SR WR Ryan Boezeman (Demott, IN) in the end zone for the go ahead score.

The winning drive for the Panthers began 10 plays earlier and 53 yards away from the end zone. Greenville had just watched their 15 point lead vanish after the third 4th quarter Eureka touchdown.

The drive included two huge plays; a 21 yard pass from Chambers to SR TE Demontrez Simington (Atlanta, GA) on a 3rd and 9 and a 23 yard pass from Chambers to FR WR Trik Scott (Owings Millis, MD).

After the Boezeman touchdown, Greenville held off a Eureka Hail Mary attempt when SR DB John Smith (Aurora, IL) intercepted the pass as time expired.

For Greenville College (4-3, 4-2 UMAC) it was their fourth straight win. Eureka College (4-3, 4-2 UMAC) suffered their second UMAC loss in consecutive weeks.

The Panthers defense had their best game of the season against the run allowing only 11 yards on 25 attempts. The defense was led by SR LB Kiso Faletufuga (San Diego, CA) who filled up the stat sheet, 10 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss.

The defense finally broke out of their interception slump snagging three on Saturday. In addition to Smith's, SR DB Andy Lozano (Desert Hot Springs, CA) and SO LB Cody Lopez (Bonita, CA) joined the pick party.

This week there were many contributors to the Panther success on offense. Chambers finished with 191 yards on the ground with 2 touchdowns and 157 yards in the air with 2 touchdowns. JR RB Bobby Hughley (New York, NY) was the workhorse for the Panthers gaining 108 yards rushing on 24 attempts. Simington was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 95 yards which included a 58 yard touchdown.

The Red Devils were led by their senior All-UMAC receiver Wes Schmidgall who finished with 18 receptions for 273 yards. On defense Mike Minehan had 9 solo tackles and 2 pass breakups.

Next week the Panthers travel to Minneapolis, MN to play in the annual UMAC Dome Day. The Panthers will play the Minnesota-Morris Cougars. Kickoff is Saturday at 1PM.
