Published: April 13, 2021

HANNIBAL, Mo. NAIA DI Hannibal-Lagrange University dealt GC their third loss of the young season, as they pushed past the Panthers 83-58 on Monday night in Hannibal.

Greenville registered three ladies in double figures in the loss, with all 11 members of the traveling roster seeing time in the tilt. Junior Ieisha Adams led the Panthers in scoring and rebounding with 16 and 8 respectively. Guards Emmalee Fladland and Laura Hobbie added 12 and 11 points as well in the defeat.

The Lady Trojans of HLU didn't surrender a Greenville made field goal for the first four and a half minutes of play, but the Panthers fired back offensively to come within two after consecutive threes with 13:46 left in the half. The two-point deficit was as close as GC would get to Hannibal-LaGrange as the Lady Trojans used a 10-2 run to take a 10-point lead. The oppositions lead stretched to as high as 16 twice before entering the half down 39-25.

Second half action saw HLU explode offensively behind 47% shooting from the floor. The Lady Trojans reached leads as high as 36 points before utilizing their bench while cruising to the 83-58. GC committed a season high 31 turnovers in the loss.

We will and need to be better, commented head coach Roy Mulholland. There are no excuses for our turnovers and lack of offensive confidence, but that is what practice is for. We look forward to our conference opener against Eureka to get back on track.

Womens basketball will again hit the road as they look to overcome a talented Eureka College squad on Wednesday, November 30. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start.
