Panzau, Conwell-Vargas, Gabbert, Wright, and Koehl Nab Women's Soccer Post-Season Awards

GREENVILLE, Ill.--Six members of the GC women's soccer team earned SLIAC post-season honors.

Senior captain, Kesley Panzau, was Greenville's only player on the SLIAC First Team All-Conference. Panzau finished the season with 9 goals and 9 assists. She scored two game-winning goals and was fifth in the Conference in total points, recording 27 total. The Waterloo, Ill. native was a driving force behind the Panthers success this season. Panzau also was a member of the SLIAC All-Tournament Team.

Claire Conwell-Vargas, a senior center-back, was honored with a spot on the SLIAC Second Team All-Conference. Conwell-Vargas scored two goals and added an assist this season. Her defensive ability and on the field leadership made her an important part of GC's defensive success.

Tymber Gabbert, a freshman from Sedelia, Mo., received an All-Conference Honorable Mention. The young defender stepped into the role of center-back and had an outstanding season, becoming one of Greenville's most consistent players. Gabbert was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team.

Senior, Emily Wright, also was awarded an All-Conference Honorable Mention. The captain finished 2013 with one goal and one assist and helped lead the Lady Panthers to a second place finish in the SLIAC.

Heidi Koehl was presented with Greenville's position on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. The senior captain and starting goalkeeper showed incredible leadership skills and faith both on and off the field.
