Peoples takes hurdles win at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The men's track and field team was led by Jonah Peoples first place finish in the 60 meter hurdles as he led eight entries that finished in the top four positions at Monmouth on Saturday.

Peoples clocked a time of 8.35 seconds in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles. He was fourth in the prelimaries with a mark of 8.63 seconds.

Andrew Sharp took second in the one-mile run with a time of 4:26.88, and Jarrid Williams was second in the triple jump as he leapt 13.31 meters.

The 4x400 meter relay team placed third in 3:29.44.

Chris Crawford and Ryan Burgess were third and fourth, respectively, in the weight throw. Crawford produced a distance of 15.42 meters, and Burgess threw the weight 14.45 meters.

Peoples was fourth in the 60 meter dash as he recorded a time of 7.11 seconds.

Matt Hughes posted a fourth place finish in the high jump as he cleared 1.84 meters.

The Panthers return to action as qualifying members of the team will compete at the NCCAA national championships next weekend.
