Pursuit Announces Early October Tour Dates

Members of Pursuit, Greenville College’s student worship arts ensemble, will take their talents on the road with engagements in early October. One team will perform at Collinsville Christian Academy in Collinsville, IL, on October 2. Another will perform at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Bloomington, IL, October 4.

Six touring teams comprise this year’s Pursuit, a ministry facilitated in part by the worship arts program at the College. When they are not touring, musicians and vocalists on each team also regularly lead chapel and vespers services on the Greenville College campus.

Pursuit’s name reflects the passionate pursuit of Christ. “When people have an engaging encounter with God through worship music, we have succeeded,” says Professor Paul Sunderland, head of the College’s worship arts program. “Worship leading is first a spiritual role, then a musical one.

Pursuit teams typically lead worship at church, camp and school events. Teams performed earlier this year at a church-sponsored Back to School Bash in Havana, IL, and Greenville High School’s See You At The Pole, a global, student-led prayer initiative.
