Published: April 13, 2021

Dr. Todd Wood will present at Greenville College on May 1. Wood is president of the Core Academy of Science, professor of biochemistry and was the subject of a Christianity Today cover story in 2012. He will present at a colloquium at 4 p.m. in Greenville College Snyder Hall room 104. Woods presentation is titled Is Creationism a Failure? The event is free and open to the public.

Wood earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Liberty University in Virginia and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia. After completing his doctorate, Wood served as the director of bioinformatics at the Clemson University Genomics Institute. In 2000, he accepted a research position at the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn. where he served as director from 2006-2013. In 2013, the Center became a separate educational ministry called Core Academy of Science, of which he is now president. Wood is a founding member of the Creation Biology Society, an active society and research group that publishes peer-reviewed journal papers and holds annual meetings.

Woods lecture is presented by the Greenville Religion and Science Society, a local faith and science initiative of Greenville College intended to serve the college and surrounding community by providing opportunities for engagement with issues related to Christian faith and science through lectures, films, readings and discussion groups. All society events are open to the public with local clergy and laity especially encouraged to attend.
