Science and Religion Presentation with Dr. Jack Collins

Published: April 13, 2021

Dr. Jack Collins will present at Greenville College on May 1. His presentation, titled "Is Intelligent Design Bad Theology?" is open to the public and will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Snyder Hall room 104.

Collins is Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. With degrees from MIT (SB, SM) and the University of Liverpool (PhD), he has been a research engineer, a church-planter, and, since 1993, a teacher. After his first focus on Hebrew and Greek grammar, he also studied science and faith, how the New Testament uses the Old, and Biblical theology. He was Old Testament Chairman for the English Standard Version of the Bible, and is author of Science and Faith: Friends or Foes? and Did Adam and Eve Really Exist?: Who They Were and Why You Should Care.

Collins' lecture is presented by the Greenville Religion and Science Society, a local faith and science initiative of Greenville College intended to serve the college and surrounding community by providing opportunities for engagement with issues related to Christian faith and science through lectures, films, readings and discussion groups. All society events are open to the public with local clergy and laity especially encouraged to attend. For more information on Collins' presentation or Greenville Religion and Science Society, contact Darrell Iler at 618-664-6540 or darrell.iler@greenville.edu.
