GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's cross country team was represented by freshman Andrew Sharp and senior Ben Barber in the SLIAC's postseason awards.

Sharp, from Altamont, Ill., raced to a second place finish in the SLIAC championships, taking Newcomer of the Year honors. He was also first team all-conference. He was one of just two freshmen on the all-conference team, the other being Zach Matthiesen from Principia. Sharp's time of 26:26 in the meet was 46 seconds off the pace of the race winner.

Barber, from Greenville, Ill., was selected to the SLIAC all-sportsmanship team. One runner from each school is given this designation.

The men's cross country team competes next at the Panther Trials on Friday in Greenville before competing at the NCAA regional hosted by Wisconsin - Oshkosh on Nov. 15.
