Softball defeats Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- With the score tied at six in the seventh inning, Tiffany Samsoe came to the plate and homered, plating Bryn McKie.

Samsoe racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Panthers.

Becca Oldham racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Panthers. She homered in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

The bottom of the first saw Spalding University take an early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by Peyton French started the inning off.

Spalding University posted one run in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, Spalding University scored on a wild pitch, scoring Hannah Stucker.

Spalding University survived the Panthers' surge and put up two runs of its own in the fifth. Spalding University scored on a two-run double by Becca Mouser.

The Lady Panthers (9-5, 2-0 SLIAC) host their first games of the young season on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Eureka.
