Softball Finishes Fourth in SLIAC Coaches Pre-Season Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. Defending St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) tournament championFontbonne University has been chosen as the pre-season favorite in the SLIACSoftball Pre-Season Coaches' Poll. TheGriffins receivedsix first place votes and had a total of 55 points. Greenville College finished fourth in the voting released Wednesday.

Also receiving one first place vote in the pollwas Webster University. TheGorloks went 14-2 in SLIAC play last season and finished 24-13 overall. They also captured their fourth consecutive regular season SLIACtitle.

SpaldingUniversitywas selected to finishthird among the league coaches. TheGolden Eagleswent 16-21 overall in 2010 and 9-6 in theconference. Greenville College, who finished lastseason with aconference record of 9-7 and 18-18 overall, rounded out the top four in the pre-season poll.
