GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The softball team was defeated in a doubleheader by Fontbonne on Thursday. The Lady Panthers fell 13-3 in the opener, and the score in the second game was 7-0.

Fontbonne took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning of the first game, but Greenville tied it with two runs in the fifth. Fontbonne exploded for 11 runs in the top of the seventh as Greenville's pitcher tired. Greenville got one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Bryn McKie was 2-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI.

Jessica Laubecher gave up all 13 runs in seven innings as her record fell to 6-1.

Game two saw Fontbonne post one run in the third and six in the fifth innings.

McKie was 2-for-4.

Hannah Burger threw all seven innings and permitted seven runs, five earned, on nine hits.

The Lady Panthers (20-15, 11-5 SLIAC) face Eureka on Monday as they play for the second seed in the SLIAC tournament.
