Softball wins one of two at Webster

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The softball team split two games at Webster on Wednesday. They won the first game 9-1 in six innings and lost the second game 5-3.

Greenville got single runs in the first and second innings and four in the third to lead 6-0. Webster got a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lady Panthers posted three runs in the top of the sixth.

Tiffany Samsoe produced a 2-for-4 afternoon with a home run and four RBI.

Hannah Burger was the winning pitcher as she threw all six innings, only allowing one run on four hits.

Greenville put three runs on the scoreboard in the first inning, but Webster shut them out the rest of the way as the Gorloks produced a five run fourth inning to take the win.

Bryn McKie produced a 3-for-4 game with a run scored.

Andrea Martin and Jessica Laubecher were 2-for-3, and Shannon Elbe went 2-for-4.

Becca Oldham was the losing pitcher as she gave up all five Webster runs in 3.1 innings.

Hannah Burger entered and gave Greenville 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.

The Lady Panthers (17-12, 8-2 SLIAC) travel to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.
