Stefan Neece Selected as SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Greenville College's Stefan Neece, a senior from Greenville, Ill. (Bond County Community Unit #2), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 19-25. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Neece, an infielder, went 5-for-8 at the plate for a .625 batting average in three games played last week. He scored four runs and recorded eight RBI, three home runs and one double, as the Panthers went 2-1 for the week. Neece also reached base on balls six times and had 26 putouts and three assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

In game one of a double header versus Eureka College, Neece went 2-for-3 with one double, one RBI and one run. In game two he hit 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and two runs scored. Greenville swept the Red Devils 12-7 and 13-6. Neece also added one home run and two RBI in a 7-6 loss to MacMurray College.
