Vocalist Leslie Barnes Visits Campus

Nationally renowned vocalist, Leslie Parker Barnes, will be visiting Greenvilles campus on April 25, 2018. Dr. Barnes performs with the nationally acclaimed group, Divine Hope. Along with her vocal success, Barnes is known for her philanthropic achievements. Barnes founded YEPAW, Youth Excellence Performance Arts Worship, an organization that encourages youth in the arts. The mission of this organization is to equip and inspire students towards excellence in their talents, education, and future careers.

Barnes has an extensive list of accomplishments extending even beyond founding YEPAW. Recently, Barnes received her doctorate in worship studies from the Robert. E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Barnes has received several recognitions including The Akron Beacon Journal's Extraordinary Woman Crystal Award, the Akron Urban League's Women of Power, and the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundations Impact Award. Dr. Barnes is committed to social justice, and her work awarded her the Harold K. Stubbs Humanitarian Award for Social Action in 2014.

Leslie will be on campus all day Wednesday, April 25th. We are incredibly blessed to have Leslie Parker Barnes on campus, and we welcome you to join us for chapel in Whitlock at 9:30 a.m.
