Volleyball Cruises Through SLIAC Double-Header, Sweeps Blackburn, Eureka

CARLINVILLE, Ill. Greenville volleyball moved to 6-2 in SLIAC play on Saturday as they completed 3-0 sweeps over Blackburn and Eureka.

GC showcased a dominating performance in the Saturdays opener, downing Blackburn 25-14, 25-16, 25-17. Freshman Nicole Schaeffer and sophomore Corinne Coon paced the Panthers offensively, hanging ten and nine kills on BC respectively. Defensively, it was freshman MB Marie Kendrick that headlined the efforts at the net. Kendrick posted three block solos and added eight block assists in the 3-0 contest.

Game two of the double-dip pitted GC against SLIAC foe Eureka, and the Panthers refused to relent in the 25-18, 25-17, 25-17 sweep.

With the pair of wins GC volleyball improves to 11-5 (6-2 SLIAC) and will return to the court on Tuesday, October 4 against Fontbonne in St. Louis.
