Volleyball Sweeps Webster in Three Sets, Clinches No. 1 Seed in SLIAC Tournament

ST. LOUIS -- The volleyball team topped Webster in straight sets Tuesday night, knocking off the Gorloks 25-19, 25-15, 28-26. With the win, the Lady Panthers earned the No. 1 seed in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament which is set for Saturday, Nov. 6, in Greenville. This is the first time that Greenville will host the tournament.

The Lady Panthers continued their winningest season since 1992 by picking up their 20th victory of the season. Through 25 matches, Greenville holds a record of 20-5 (12-1 SLIAC) with 12 straight wins.

The Lady Panthers were led offensively in the match by Jessica Dothager with 10 kills in 26 attempts. Dothager also collected three and a half blocks on defense.

The assist leader was Janell Crow with 39 of Greenville's 41 assists.

Alyssa Cliffe made her presence known on defense, leading Greenville with 17 digs. Sydney Cooper, Katelin Feyerabend, and Jenna Marcotte posted double-digit dig totals with 13, 12, and 11, respectively.

Greenville's next action is a contest at Robert Morris - Springfield on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The SLIAC volleyball tournament will begin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 with Greenville competing in the first of twosemifinals at 2 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
