Volleyball Wins One of Three at Monmouth Tournament

Volleyball Wins One of Three at Monmouth Tournament

The Lady Panthers opened Saturday's tournament in Monmouth with a win, but suffered losses in their next two matches to fall to 1-3 on the year.

Facing SLIAC rival MacMurray in the opener, the Lady Panthers dropped the first game, but rallied with three wins to defeat the Highlanders.

Greenville fell 26-24 in the opening game and answered with wins of 25-22, 25-8, 25-10 to get its first win of the year.

The Lady Panthers fell to 1-2 with a three-game defeat at the hands of a strong Cornell College team.

Jenna Marcotte had 11 kills and added three digs.  Crow had 23 assists as the Lady Panthers were defeated 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.

Greenville finished off the tournament with a tough three-game loss to Monmouth.  The Lady Panthers held leads in each of the match's three games, but couldn't hold on.

Monmouth won 26-24, 25-22, 25-23 to drop Greenville to 1-3 on the season.
