Women’s basketball edged by MacMurray

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. The womens basketball team suffered a 52-50 loss to MacMurray on Saturday as they could not recover from an 18 point halftime deficit. Taylor Paulin posted 12 points for Greenville.

MacMurray took control of the game from the outset as Greenville fought back to cut the lead to a single point on Jamie Schollenbruchs three-pointer with 43 seconds remaining.

MacMurrays Megan Duisen stepped to the free throw line and knocked down one of two free throws to give MacMurray a two point lead.

A three point attempt by Miranda Murray was unsuccessful as time expired.

Greenvilles Laura Goodnight and Whitney Vitt were the leaders in rebounding with four a piece.

Claire Schmitt had four assists, and Schmitt and Schollenbruch each totaled three steals.

Coley Baker blocked four shots.

The Lady Panthers (9-13, 6-9 SLIAC) travel to Principia for a game Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
