Women's basketball loses at Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. -- The women's basketball team was dealt a 72-66 loss at Eureka on Saturday. Three Lady Panthers scored 11 points in the effort.

Greenville carried a two-point lead into halftime but could only extend the lead to four as Eureka pushed their advantage to 12 points before settling for the six point win.

G.C.'s scoring leaders were Laura Goodnight, Claire Schmitt, and Miranda Murray who all tallied 11 points. Kelly Lenz posted 10 points.

Taylor Paulin had a nine-rebound afternoon, while Schmitt dished out seven assists.

The Lady Panthers (9-11, 6-8 SLIAC) find themselves in fifth place in the conference standings. Their season continues Thursday at home against Trinity Christian at 7 p.m.
