Women's basketball maintains second place SLIAC position

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team was a 65-43 winner over MacMurray on Wednesday night to improve their conference record to 4-1, just one-half game behind Iowa Wesleyan.

Greenville outscored MacMurray in all four quarters, expanding a one point first quarter lead to a 28-21 advantage at halftime. The Lady Panthers led by 10 after the third quarter and outdistanced the Highlanders by 12 points in the fourth quarter.

Missy Deal and Coley Baker held top scoring honors for Greenville with 12 points each.

Deal, Kayla Hyde, and Laura Goodnight added five rebounds, and Baker tallied two blocked shots and three steals.

The Lady Panthers (8-4) host Fontbonne on Saturday at 1 p.m.
