GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team won their second straight game with a 55-52 victory over Principia on Monday night. Freshman Laura Goodnight led the Lady Panthers with 14 points in the contest.
Greenville led 26-15 at halftime and saw their lead slip away as Principia took a narrow advantage with less than seven minutes remaining.
Claire Schmitt hit a three pointer to put Greenville on top by three with 1:40 to go and later made two free throws to seal the win.
Taylor Paulin scored 11 points as she made three three-pointers.
Kelly Lenz produced six rebounds, and Schmitt and Jamie Schollenbruch each had four assists.
Goodnight and Missy Deal blocked two shots.
The Lady Panthers shot 40 percent from the field on 20-of-50 shots and made 6-of-14 three pointers. Greenville made 9-of-13 free throws.
Greenville (7-7, 4-4 SLIAC) travels to first place Spalding on Wednesday.
