Women's Basketball Upsets Conference Leader Eureka

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team used 16 points and eight rebounds from senior Emily Gundy as they took control of the game in the second half and defeated conference leader Eureka 62-51 on Wednesday night.

Greenville held a narrow 30-29 lead at halftime before opening the game up in the second half and fighting for the win.

Sophomore Coley Baker contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots, and sophomore Missy Deal put together a 10 point outing.

The Lady Panthers (6-11, 3-7) are now one game behind Fontbonne for sixth in conference play and knocked Eureka from a tie for first to third place. Greenville returns to action Saturday at MacMurray where they will need to pick up a victory.
